Both the reception and ceremony will take place at The Merion. Our ceremony will be held in The Palace Ballroom at 6:30pm and the reception will follow in the Empire Ballroom. I fell in love with the Empire ballroom as soon as I saw it. It's decorated in a NY art deco them and has lots of sparkle and glamour everywhere! The windows are lit from the inside with blue lights and the overhead lights are a stained type of glass. Finally the chandeliers are giant crystal balls. I love that it has a huge separate cocktail room with one of the biggest bars I've ever seen! Guests will enter via the elevator and are greeted by a huge 600 gallon salt water fish tank and large art deco mermaid.....overall just amazing. I'll have the entire bottom floor of the facility for us and our guests. I was also heavily impressed with the marble bathrooms (the men can have their shoes shined!) and my huge bridal suite. I'm hoping to get some pictures up soon! Until then please visit their website! www.themerion.com
The Palace Ballroom
The Palace Ballroom is beautiful. It is done in a cream and gold style and has a hard wood dance floor. I'm so thrilled to have moved the ceremony location from the Chapel to the Palace Ballroom as it will allow for more space and will enhance the overall atmosphere.
The Courtyard, Stairs, Fountain
The Merion has a stunning courtyard for our wedding photos. I'm also planning on taking photos on the stairs, marble hallway and at the fountain pictured below!
Lounge Area of the Empire Ballroom
The lounge area and lobby of my ballroom are amazing. Guests are immediately greeted by the large salt water fish tank when they emerge from the elevator. There is plenty of extra seating on couches and all of the flooring is marble. The ladies room is huge with plenty of room and is marble everywhere! The Empire Ballroom has an art deco theme and one huge wall is decorated with a metal mermaid with water features. Finally I will have a large and sumptuous bridal suite to get ready in! Pictures of everything are below.
Empire Cocktail Room
The cocktail room is very different from any other's I'd viewed. It is masculine and yet very inviting. The faux window lights will be blue instead of purple. The cocktail room has an amazing bar with water features and a mermaid on the front! It is huge!
Empire Ballroom
The art deco theme continues into my ballroom. The dance floor is huge and beautiful while there will be plenty of space for seating all of my guests. The faux window lights will be blue and will be complimented by the up lighting and additional pin spotting of the lighting company. I simply love love love the large crystal ball chandeliers. They inspired me in regards to my centerpieces. I cannot wait to see it all come together!
